UK Dermatology Clinical Trial Network

The UK DCTN was formed in 2002 with the aim of conducting high quality, independent, multi-centre clinical trials for the treatment or prevention of skin disease. It involves a collaborative network of dermatologists, dermatology nurses, health services researchers and patients throughout the UK and Ireland and currently has over 700 members.

The UK DCTN helps to develop research ideas generated from its membership into fully funded studies.   It is coordinated from the Centre of Evidence Based Dermatology at the University of Nottingham.

Society of Academic Primary Care

Academic primary care changes clinical practice and the care that patients receive. The SAPC is a group of general practitioners, researchers and teachers committed to the development and delivery of primary healthcare.  SAPC takes a critical look at how primary care works - what it does well, and what could be done differently.  They then start with a new idea and look at how it fits with what has gone before. Members try out the idea and see how it might make a difference. By sharing learning, including through teaching, SAPC members can inspire others to see how and why primary healthcare matters.
